Brave the Wave by fistfulofneurons Brave the Wave by fistfulofneurons
ITM!

shot another photographer who was out on a shelf braving the waves. talked to him after and he was stoked on the image.

i was down there with him for a while but didnt like the light from that angle. the sun was pretty intense and was a bit harsh for my taste. the light needed a simple composition.

i did, however, get one ok shot from down on the shelf.

Cool, is that the place at Montana de Oro that looks like a mini "runway", you gotta squeese through a little trench that goes down the hill to get to it?

yea i think we are talking about the same place. the path goes off the left side of the hill and is a pretty narrow winding trench that puts you out on the side of this formation.

you ever get out there to shoot much?

I've def seen it but I havent been bold enough to out on there, but I got some ideas about shooting the interesting formation. Who did you shoot with? :)

you know there are almost better shots to be had from up on top of the cliff than down on it. but its still worth it to go down and experience the waves and power of the whole situation.

i usually go shoot with a buddy of mine, David, but i just ran into this guy out there, Paul, a couple times and i just wandered down the cliff to see what he was shooting.

this one is from up above the shelf [link]
and this one was taken down on it [link]
