I've always loved this rock. Reminds me of a shark fin. Ever been on the beach below? :)

Yes, there is a trail that is open to the public four days a week that goes onto the Private land. Its owned by Diablo Canyon. Here's a few pics that I took from there:

and the trail extends atleast a few miles south to within sight of Diablo Canyon itself. Its quite a view/ hike. I highly recommend it if you're ever in the area. :)

very cool! i didn't know that you could go out there. I've kayaked in the waters out there and they came up in a boat and told me to leave! too close to the power plant i guess. but yea i live in san luis obispo so ill def check this out. i really like the view from that Coon Creek Cave.

sounds cool. im always down to shoot. i went out tonight after work to look for this path down to the beach and i kept hitting that chain link fence with "no tresspassing. no loitering. pge property" there was even a "beware! video surveillance" sign. i was like huh? im out in the middle of a field and im looking around and can see no place they could even put a camera. crazy. but you'll have to show me what the deal is.

Where you trying to get to Coon Creek Beach that we were talking about. The legit way is to park at the parking lot and walk through the gate (when its open) and take the trail. :?
